Of thousands of providers in the market, many have an affinity to a given vendor's equipment and/or software. This often produces the
same recommendation to every client. This, in many cases, is not in the client's best interest.
There are many competing technologies available. A technology not having the bulk of market share does not mean it is inferior or
"experimental". In fact, many competing technologies may offer added benefits and/or functionality.
This does not, of course, mean that we don't have thourough experience with the standard Microsoft products and the major-vendor equipment.
Some general benefits that
may be seen include, but are not limited to:
- Increased reliability and/or performance.
- Reduced cost of ownership.
- Increased security (e.g. through reduced attack area).
- Additional features not provided in other products.
- Better compatibility with standards-based systems.
A short (definitely not all-inclusive) list of competing technologies that AbsoluTech provides full implementation and support for:
- All flavors of Linux, UNIX, and FreeBSD.
- Several open-source Firewall/VPN products.
- Large-scale RDP/Application Server Clustering.
- PHP and MySQL-driven applications.
